The story of Havoc Brothers Two brothers, one city

Real-life siblings Mathanamurthy (Havoc Mathan) and Navendramoorthy (Havoc Naven) built one of Malaysia’s best-known Tamil rap acts from the ground up, one track at a time.

They formed the crew in Skudai in 2008 with close friends and one intention: to make music that sounded like the people around them — music a Malaysian Tamil kid could hear and feel seen by.

From the start they moved freely between melody, pop, R&B, rap, old school and devotional songs. Mathan leads composition, melody and vocals; Naven brings the rap aggression and production grit.

Their reputation was built by the music itself, shared on Facebook, passed around on USB drives and played at family gatherings across JB and Singapore. When Kannaley Kollathey reached number one on both THR Raaga and Minnal FM in 2013, years of underground loyalty broke through into the mainstream.

Today they release music through their own Havoc Records Label and make films through Havoc Film Production.
